Well it was justified. It was the last AMA race for the Ducati Factory team in 2006, and the Suzuki team wanted to boycot the race. I was hanging out in the pits with the team and Bryan. So Beth and I wanted to start some shit with the Suzuki riders . Better judgement prevaled and we had a race!

Was thinking the same thing on both counts, Scout. I am a VR fanboy to the core but one race don't mean the boss is back. And Dovi and Cal brawling would be AWESOME!

i guess we will have to start wishing for rain on race days. She sure looks good in the rain ( Rossi did too ). Hopefully this is beginning of a good relationship.

Ok, So my first time at the track is two weeks from tomorrow. What all is required at Putnam to get on the course? I Have full leathers, Alpinestar gloves and boots, new helmet, and the bike.

Is there anything else gearwise that I need or you would recommend?

Also, any tips ( like tire pressure settings or anything )?

plenty to drink, and snack including bananas, if you have bring a popup tent and lawn chair, you will need to tape all glass like headlight tail light and turnsignals,remove mirrors,

just a few that pop in my head for now!

WHen you say tape the headlight and turnsignals you mean just overlay some blue tape over the lenses? I assume this is for reflaction reasons? Wonder if that would applied to my tinted turns on the front and back.

Thanks for the heads up. I will have to dig up a tent to chill in when not riding.

Its also in case of laydown all the glass be stuck to the tape instead of on track surface

Remove the headlight and tail light fuse. ( Blue #10 ) safety wire oil plug . Tape over glass and plastic it's in case you crash.

Here is a list of minimum needed for track days.


No fluid leaks

Tires at least 70% tread life

Tape all lights and signals

Tape or remove mirrors

Brakes at least 50% life

Snell/DOT/ECE approved helmet

1 piece Leathers or textile suit or 2 piece with 2/3 zipper

Gauntlet gloves

Calf high riding boots
