what is Ducati island?  Do i need a special ticket to get in or do i use my key/ducati id to get in?

Is there a group headed down from the Ducati dealer the day of?  I'm in Fort Wayne and i'm trying to decide if i ride my 1098 down or my Yamaha FJR1300.

I wanna ride the Duc, but the Yami would be sooooo comfortable.  Can i get into Ducati island if I ride the Yami.

Help and thanks!

The island is a section of the infield reserved for Ducati owners. We have a special grandstand there built just for the clubs.  You can access it by buying a Project Mugello ticket (see Indy Moto GP thread).  Lot's to do and see in the Ducati Island. Fashion show, celebrities, bike show, Ducati clubs merchandise on display and a chance to meet new and old friends.

Ducati Island is open to everyone. However to enter the Ducati hospitality tent, and to park in Ducati Island one has to be a Ducati owner and of course riding a Ducati.
Proof of ownership (Registration, DOC card or proof of insurance) will be required to enter the hospitality tent.
Yes there will be a ride Sunday morning from the dealer to Ducati Island.
The hooligans are leading it.

Bring the Duc, trust me..... be sure to bring your registration even if you insist on riding/driving something else.

Ducati island is an are where they have our "Project Mugello" grandstand seating area, Ducati themed entertainment (like a fashion show featuring Ducati bikinis, etc), Ducati shopping, and the hospitality tent (which is where your registration will come in handy since it will get you into the tent).  They also have parking trackside for Ducs (can't park any other brands there) BUT you will need to go to Indy Ducati on Thursday to pick up a parking pass for that area.  There is overflow parking near the area for non-Ducs, people that don't get parking passes, or if the lot fills up, for people with parking passes.

Anyone can walk into Ducati Island, but you have to have a Project Mugello ticket to sit in that grandstand and you have to have registration showing you own a Duc to get into the hospitality tent.... they have taken  a key as proof of ownership in the past but will not anymore.  I believe that Grifo is correct about a DOC card or insurance card - I've always used, and seen others use, the registration for their bike as proof of ownership.

Oh, and as a Duc owner, you can bring one guest into the hospitality tent, so if you bring your kid/friend/wife/etc you can show proof of ownership and both of you get a Ducati wrist band that gets you into the hospitality tent

once your inthe tent, you don't pay for refreshment, considering the track charges $4 for water???
and if its hot like today it's a nice shaded place to hang out and meet ppl

Last year we meet up at 7:30 am and left by 8:30 I haven't talked to Bill and the others yet, but I assume we'll do the same thing this year.

We'll have a booth set up that will be selling t-shirts and other club branded merchandise.  Other clubs will be there doing the same.  Last year they also had a big tent selling Duc stuff - I think it was a large dealership selling apparel, helmets, jackets, etc - and I believe they were set up sometime on Thursday.

You would be wise to go on  friday if you want to check out the vendor area. I just walked thru on Sunday last year and couldn't get any where near the vendors I wanted to check out (packed). I am gonna do the vendor thing on Friday this year. Had tons of cool shops tho last year so I imagine it will be even better this year.

Don't forget there will also be a gear check tent, where Ducati owners only will be able to check such things as helmets and jackets. Please note however you will be required to show proof of ownership as was discussed previously.

The dealer wants to leave earlier this year to make sure we can all park at Ducati Island (so you are required to have a Ducati Island wrist band for this ride).  I think they talked about meeting/leaving the dealer around 7am.

I haven't talked to the dealer yet. But to make sure we park in Ducati Island is an easy fix.
Just have whoever is working parking that morning hold the Island close till the ride gets there.

actually the people working on the island will probably be on the ride.... shifts are supposed to start at 8am so it would be best to leave in time to arrive roughly at 8am - I bet this is the thought that Bill is having....

I'm so psyched!  I haven't taken any vacation since last year's MotoGP, so I'm really ready for about a week off.
