Tail Gated!!!!!!

Ok is it the fact that my bike is red or what?  How many people have the problem being tail gated when they ride?  I'm not talking a 1/2 a car; i'm talked a couple feet!!!!  Yesterday I was riding in traffic on a two lane road US 36 (Rockville rd.) that was a 35 mph speed zone but the traffic and I was doing 40.  I'm about 1 to 2 cars from the car in front of me.  This car with a young girl on the cell phone comes flying up behind me from nowhere and is INCHES from my rear tire.  She's leaning forward looking over the dash seeing how close she can get to me.  I couldn't go nowhere because of the cars in front of me.  Well she slows down to get about a car back from me then speeds up fast and seeing how close she can get.  No place for me to go but off the road in gravel and I wasn't going there.  So we get a red light and she's in the turn lane yelling at me and cussing me saying you white M.....F....., when you see me behind you get the F... of the road.  I'll run your white ass off the road, when I got some place to go you get the F...off the road. I'll wreck you and the F....ing bike.  Well I am so mad I put the stand down and now everyone in the other cars is watching us.  I start yelling at her and telling her you keep your ass off the back of a motorcycle you B........!!!!!!! She was on my ass for about a 1/2 mile and she had come from far back because when I went through the last stop light I had no one behind me for at least a 1/2 mile. Well she was leaning out the passager side of the car, I was so close to getting off the bike and I didn't!  I though this B.....might have a gun or worse pull over and hit my bike.  Well she made the turn and everyone was at a daze that was watching.  I rode off and wondered what could I have done and what is it and about people behind a bike??  So tell what you would have done and could have got her plate number and called the police? What would they or could have done.  I tell you I don't carry a gun but boy the people out there can make a good person turn bad.

Man, that's scary..  Being on a bike you just have to assume everyone is out to get you.  I guess I would have tried to get her plates, but what would the police really do?  Your word against hers, unfortunately.

Well I would have taken a bullet it comes to my bike.  She's Italian, she's a read head and she's sexy.  I'll take a bullet for her any day.  And my wisdom kicked in, by the looks of her car I bet she didn't have insurance so who would have to pay for the damage, ME.  But boy this type of crap is making a nice guy turn bad.

That really sucks. I hate people that dont drive properly... Driving is a privilege and not a right and people need to remember that. All you can really do in a situation like that is to slow down even more allowing yourself a bigger gap between you and the car infront of you so if the person in front of you needed to stop suddenly it would give you more room to stop slower so the chick would have had ample time to react as well.

Being on a bike is dangerous enough without idiots like this on the road. If she was inches off your back tire and playing games I probably would have just pulled over and let her go around me. No sense in keeping myself in a bad situation where my bike or I could get hurt regardless if its because of someone elses ignorance.

Now if I was in my explorer I probably would have just tap the brakes enough for her to tap my back end... But I have a small dent in my back bumper from backing into a pole so I would like it to get fixed on someone elses dime. lol

The comments about a Officer seeing it or where are they when you need one.  I have family memebers that are State Police Officers and I ask all the time where are you guys?  When I was kid first driving I got tickets for not using turn signals or loud mufflers.  Now I see things with a officer around and they don't do anything.  I'm not knocking them, times have changed but people are getting by with murder out there on the roads.  There should have been something I could have done to get her arrested. She threaten my life with her car and her mouth.  I do believe that motorcycle riders need to get together and fight for better laws to protect us whatever that may be.  I quit riding for almost 30 years because of what I was seeing on the road.  During the late 70's and 80's I worked at Dreyer Cycles in the evening after hours repairing and alining bent frames for the Insurance companies on wrecked bikes.  I'd say at least 99% of the wrecks was front in damage on bikes. Why?  I never understood that?  I have come close but I always make sure I have a out to go around a car.  I rode with a young girl a couple weeks ago down to Brown County and she was right on the bumper of the car in front of us.  It had to be 4 feet or less, boy did I burn her ear about that.

Anyway I'm getting off the subject. I quit riding 30 yrs ago because what I saw and it scraed me.  I never ever worked on a wrecked bike back then that was hit from the rear or even hit from the side.  I don't know whats in peoples heads anymore how they drive and with all the road rage.  But we should at least be able to record a number off a car and report it with something done.  For me I spend more time watching my rear than watching the car in front of me.   Sorry I'm still hot over this.

In Indiana it's legal to pull someone out their car window and beat their face in with your riding gloves.... that's what the knuckle protection is for..... ask Mario, he's a cop... he'll confirm this
