What a great site!  I'm Jerry.  My wife (Deb) and I live in Westfield.  I bought my first Duc in July of 09, a M1100S.  I absolutely love everything about the bike.  I haven't done any mods yet but bought the showroom custom Ducati Indy had on the floor (the one with the Brickyard custom paint).  I opted for the OEM tank cover and cowl (red) because I didn't want to pay the price for the custom paint.

My wife and I love to ride.  She has a 1976 KH100 (her dad bought new for her) and an 06 1200 Custom Sporster.  I ride the Monster and occasionally ride an 08 FLHT.  I will post some pics when I get some good ones to post.  We have been riding since we were kids.  I grew up on dirt bikes like Elsinores and such.  Most of the bikes I have owned have been Harley, some of them when AMF owned 'em.  We don't get much of a chance to do any touring but love to do day rides.

We look forward to meeting new friends and getting together for some rides.

Thanks for keeping this site and all the work that goes into maintaining it.

Jerry

Welcome Jerry!  It's good to see that bike in someones hands. Do you know all the places it's been on display?  It's a bit of a piece of local Duc history

Yes, I did get the Hoosier Hooligan piece that was on the bike.  And no, I have no idea where the bike was on display.  Bill didn't tell me much about that part of the bike.  I did find out that Bill's family, or his wife's, is from the same town I grew up in, Ottumwa, Iowa.  I know it's only a couple of states away but when I meet someone who even knows of Ottumwa I figure it's good karma.  Tom Arnold and Radar O'Reilly are the towns only claim to fame.  Radar is only a character but I did go to school with and run around with Tom Arnold.  Enough about that.

I am a hugh fan of MotoGP and have been to both 08 and 09 races at Indy.  I have tickets for the 2010 race and would love to experience it with a bunch of local riders.  Do the Hooligans do anything special for the race?  I would really like to meet and ride with some of the members.

p.s. I love everything about my Monster.  So much so that I am thinking of getting rid of my FLHT.  After riding the Duc, which I do all the time, getting on the Harley is like trying to handle a rodeo bull.  It's a great bike for the open road and even some town riding, but it's so damn heavy.  That's all I have to say about that.

No Multistrada's either. Only sTD is exempt from that rule. We've had bad luck with Multi riders so far.

Welcome Jerry.  Last year quite a few members meet at the Revolver store at the Noblesville mall the weekend before the race.  Bill and Matt from Indy Ducati where there with a few bikes, as well as an IMS van with a few bikes.  Even a few Ferrari made it out too. After hanging out at the store about 12 of us rode around Hamilton county for a bit before going to the courthouse square in Noblesville.

Here is the link to the Revolver store thread.  Bottom of page 3 has pics.

Count me in for helping at the booth.  I am available all three days if needed.  My plans are to make an ENTIRE weekend of GP and Ducati madness.  I will definitely make the meet and ride at the Revolver.  I am looking forward to meeting new people and checking out all the rides.

Do I need to contact anyone in particular about getting my name on the list of helpers for the booth?  I also need to get a shirt or two for the weekend.  Where do I get 'em?

Who has the scoop on that bike, just to give him the full background?

As I recall, it was made as a dealer built entry in a Monster customization contest.  There was later a club built contest and one of our members bikes did very well.  You'll probably fine Jeanie's "Stella Rosa" Monster around and could sorta consider her the sister to your Indy built bike.

Your bike, which probably deserves a name, was display at Moto GP last year and I hear it was on display in the Indy airport for a while.  It's been taken to several local "shows" as well - wasn't it at the 1 year anniversary party for the Revolver store mentioned above?

I know I have some pics of that bike.  We should start a thread where people can post pics they have of it or share historic details they remember about it.  I think Jerry would get a kick out of seeing how well known it really is.

You'll have to ask Matt Carr (Bill's son and the service manager/best Duc mechanic around) about that bikes trick brake/clutch reservoirs.  There's some pics where they were hidden (ie, they were removed and the lines plugged to make the front end look extra clean)

Dustin, welcome aboard. Those are two great bikes. I too have a 95 900cr and a 99 st2. Fun bikes I am sure you will love the world of Ducs and this group is full of great guys and gals to ride and hang with. Don't forget to check out our Moto Gp thread and get your Ducati Island seats so you can have the best seats with the best group of people.  Drop me a P.M. If you or you dad want to hook up and ride.
