Black monster, leather jacket, and full face helmet... I could see how it would be mistakable. Now if I was mistaken for him walking down the road then there would be fighting words! haha

I'm not against riding that far at all, I'm against doing it by myself, that sucks ass to ride that far solo. a hundred miles or so I could handle, but much more than that I'd almost have to have a trailer to I could listen to the radio in the car

Hey I do the same thing.  I ride long distance a lot by myself because a lot of people can't hang.  I use an I-pod too I have the small one so I get about 12 hours of music w/o recharging.  You are correct it is safer riding w/someone.  But sometimes if you want to go and nobody else does you just suck it up and ride.  Either way you have a drive ahead of you.  When you pull it off the trailer you will put some dents in the odometer.

I put speakers inside my helmet and just listen to my MP3 player while I ride long distances.

I bought some of those helmet speakers, but didn't work out...they folded my ears down.  I bought some of the Sony ear buds (that insert) and they work great.  Nothing like blasting down a back road or the slab while listening to some Miles Davis or John Coltrane.  It seems that with Jazz, the sound of Duc exhaust fits in.  I've tried it with Soundgarden, Jane's Addicition and 9" Nails, but seems to conflict with the vibe.  Blues seems to work in some cases...R.L. Burnside.  Indian classical doesn't work at all, too soft, too serene.  I wouldn't subject my Ducati to the sound of hip hop.
I don't think it is dangerous to ride with a little iPod action.  Just don't turn it up to where the ears bleed.  Same on airplanes, if you are completely masking out engine noise (Ducati music), then you are going to make them bleed.  I can still hear sirens and horns just fine...anything that I could hear from within a heated cage.  Not worth the trouble to listen to music in town, so that is a non-issue.

It's 183 miles from Evansville to Indy

It's 114 miles from Louisville to Indy

It's 91 miles from Hidden Valley to Indy

Prem and I are close to the same distance from Indy, Grubby is almost twice as far away...  Undecided

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

It's 132 miles from Evansville to Bloomington

It's 120 miles from Hidden Valley to Bloomington (mostly on two lane curvies  )

It's 105 miles from Louisville to Bloomington.

Maybe we could meet up in Bloomington, we three southerners are roughly the same distance from there.
Ride from there to South Bend. Mosey over to Moser's and chill them M Fs out.

Does that make sense or sound stoopid?

I must be missing something...you have to enlighten me as to what's in Sullivan.
I like the Indy or Bloomington ideas.  Could drop in on the Carr Moto folks in Indy, and I bet there is beer somewhere in Bloomington (means an overnight stop) or hell, I'm up for Moser's in a few weeks.  The 31st would trump any plans for Road Atlanta.  Grub and I got our digits plugged into address books today so that we can get on down the road one of these weekends soon.  And Route 42 takes me up into Rob's neck of the woods.  So I'm game, just give me some notice.

You guys couldnt handle the straightness and the levelness of our roads. Boredom would eventually set in, and all of you would mysteriously fall over in sequence, while running down one of our infamously dull, but potholed scarred roads or highways.

I've been up 31 to South Bend many a time. (My oldest daughter went to Notre Dame) Yes it's long straight and boring. Once I saw a 996 while I was trucking furniture to and fro.
