so ride like a knob

« on: December 24, 2007, 10:47:34 AM »

Although it seems like a long way away, it's just two months!  My friend Claude now lives in Sanford (on the NE side of Orlando) and is in the process of putting together a couple extended rides that include some curvy roads, interesting scenery, good food, and an airboat ride... far away from the drunken, stoplight-to-stoplight, poser-potato, open-pipe onslaught of Daytona.  Everyone's invited.

Of course, Vicki's Ducati party is not to be missed, and the flat track races in Deland are fun.  Being a racer, I like to spend a lot of time at the track during the day.  At least one day I will probably ride to Cape Coral to see my dad; he's got a nice place/pool/boat, and could probably put a few of us up for the night.... but it is a 3-4 hour ride.

I usually like to leave 2-ish in the afternoon on Friday before bike week, stay for the start of the 200, then jet for home Saturday afternoon.

Anyone going.... anyone?

"those of us who are lazy" doesn't narrow it down much

Bike week is 02.29.08 (Friday) thru 03.09.08 (Sunday)

Here is one of the routes Claude has planned and said he'll pre-ride early next month:

Hey... this is Claude. I just signed back up again.... been pretty crazy around here lately trying to get me feet on the ground.

Please note that the map posted by Troy is purely tentative at this point. I'll be doing a pre-run within the next two weeks and will be working out the details.

It will be an all day ride which will start with an early breakfast, lunch at a good old red-neck fish camp and an airboat ride later on in the afternoon... we'll end up at a cookout on the beach or at a local bar on the beach. I haven't decided yet... I'll keep you posted as things develop.

Cheers,
Claude

I'm in as long as it doesn't interfere with school.  It was the same time as spring break last year and I'm hoping tht it's the same again this year

Hey Troy, let's coordinate around these events... I'm up for riding to Cape Coral too... haven't seen your dad in years and would like to see his setup... I need another boat buddy down here too  Grin
