Well it was justified. It was the last AMA race for the Ducati Factory team in 2006, and the Suzuki team wanted to boycot the race. I was hanging out in the pits with the team and Bryan. So Beth and I wanted to start some shit with the Suzuki riders . Better judgement prevaled and we had a race!

I would throw down with a Boz Bros. at my back..  I mean if it was justified!

Did I ever tell you guys when Ben Bostrom and I almost started a fist fight with the Suzuki riders @ MidOhio..

Was thinking the same thing on both counts, Scout. I am a VR fanboy to the core but one race don't mean the boss is back. And Dovi and Cal brawling would be AWESOME!

I bet sometime this year Dovi and Crutchlow get into a fight!  I love watching those two race.

i guess we will have to start wishing for rain on race days. She sure looks good in the rain ( Rossi did too ). Hopefully this is beginning of a good relationship.

318 curves in 11 miles of TN highway.  S

A few freinds and i are planning on a three day weekend to Pigeon Forge / Deals Gap to ride the Dragon.  The plan is to leave Friday morning from Indianapolis - make a trp of it - drive the dragon on Saturday and return home Sunday.  The plan is still being finalized though - we may leave Thursday and ride the dragon friday before the crowds but that is still up for debate.

If you are interested in tagging along let me know.  If you would like to meet the group going before you commit - we go out typically after the children go to bed a couple nights a week.  We also get in a weekend ride once every few weeks.  This week two of us are going to do the loop for life in indy.

Should be a great trip.

Be careful... that place is a squid zoo on the weekends.  At least it's surrounded by hundreds of miles of tasty tarmac that isn't infested with wannabes.

i am hoping we can leave a day earlier and that will control the crowds a bit.  We are looking to get away from the middle of indiana - maybe find a few hills, maybe a turn in the road - that kind of thing.   Smiley

The Cherohala Skyway is on the plan.  the whole area (minus the part that would trap the Griswalds for days) is awesome for the senses.

A few years ago, there were some articles about excessive law enforcement on Deals Gap/Dragon.  Has this backed off since the recession started, or do they continue to use it as an enhanced revenue source?

i could not answer that one with much authority - the Dragon is more of a destination for a good excuss for a road trip.  the roads just getting there should provide a great ride.

on that note - i have noticed our  around 465 on the harleys have a new toy that did not set off my radar / laser detector yesterday.  the thing looked like a laser but again - i have a new detector that is one of the best on the market and it just sat there looking like life was all good leaving me hanging.  I was just wondering if anyone new what the new toy was?

Its actually been around awhile no detector can defeat it the measure from one point to the next.  Can't remenber the name.  Is a very expensive item so most departments do not own it.  Most use the radar gun etc.  Its not turned on till its too late.

Mike, remember a few years ago the guy that got caught doing "200mph on a bone stock RC51" up in Montana or something like that ?? I remember there was a big stink about it with Greg White on Two Wheel Tuesday. That was done from a plane with a stopwatch if I remember right.

You guys should email PJ and Paige from PJ's Parts, they ride there all the time. They're good people. Mike's a funny dude.

Here in my neck an Ohio State Trooper (off duty) got caught doing 147 on a Kawi and was let go without a ticket by locals. Oops the cruiser cam caught the dummy that let him (and his buddy who was a local cop and clocked at 151, of course both stated they were NOT racing) go. Now they all in a heap o' trouble. What's fair for the goose is fair for the gander me thinks.

Sorry for the thread jack, but that's what I do... just sayin'.

I think that the point of the RC51 post was that there's no fucking way a stock RC-51 is going to do 200MPH.  On a good day, you'd be lucky to see 160.  That's why LEO is forbidden to use timing methods in California to determine speed.  It's simply not accurate.

all good reasons not to get off subject in your own 'thread'.

having said that, 465 (with the implied speed limit of 75 and a posting of 55) is becoming one long speed trap - just watch it when you make your way to the speedway this weekend.
