Well it was justified. It was the last AMA race for the Ducati Factory team in 2006, and the Suzuki team wanted to boycot the race. I was hanging out in the pits with the team and Bryan. So Beth and I wanted to start some shit with the Suzuki riders . Better judgement prevaled and we had a race!

I would throw down with a Boz Bros. at my back..  I mean if it was justified!

Did I ever tell you guys when Ben Bostrom and I almost started a fist fight with the Suzuki riders @ MidOhio..

Was thinking the same thing on both counts, Scout. I am a VR fanboy to the core but one race don't mean the boss is back. And Dovi and Cal brawling would be AWESOME!

I bet sometime this year Dovi and Crutchlow get into a fight!  I love watching those two race.

Before everyone goes out and buys VR46 everything, just remember last year at Le Mans.......

i guess we will have to start wishing for rain on race days. She sure looks good in the rain ( Rossi did too ). Hopefully this is beginning of a good relationship.

Did Rossi cause a earthquake in Italy?

I was there on Saturday as well (in the novice group) and remember that corner pretty well. I think someone crashed in that corner right away during the first few sessions and his/her bike stayed on the grass for the rest of the morning sessions, reminding everyone to slow down into that beast. It certainly worked for me. I was on a yellow 748 and it was the first time on a track for both of us Smiley I did pack it up after the second rain showed since I still had an hour and half of riding ahead of me to get home. Too bad we did not meet up there. Maybe next time. Am certainly glad to hear you are alright.

Haha. That would have been my black monster sitting out there in the grass on the turn. For some reason, when it went down the handlebar locking pin came out with the key in the on position so I couldnt straighten my handlebars out (they stayed locked to the left regardless of key movement). Thats why it had to sit there until lunch when I could get the truck and trailer out on the track to pick it up. It was in the third session of the day so luckily it didnt have to sit there for long before the lunch break.

I plan on attending a few next spring when they start back up again so we can meet up then.

Totally. That will be great. I was also told by one of the regulars that Mid Ohio race course (or what ever they are called) does some good track days as well. Apparently there are days you can use their bikes and they even assign you a instructor that works with you through out the day. It would certainly be a good way to learn more about racing. If you were interested in such a thing, I will look into it and post the details.
I hope the fix of your bike was not too expensive.

Yeah, the guy I was parked next to with the red 848 was talking about them. He said he has done a couple of those and spoke very highly of their organization. He said you get a lot more attention than what we did on saturday and it was a better experience with additional instruction and guidance.

Bill Carr ( of Indy Duc ) called me in response to an email I sent him about the lack of attention and guidance from saturday and we talked about it and a few other things. He was a great guy and said to talk to him next time before coming out and they will get someone to help on a more personal level. This spoke very highly of the organization from my viewpoint...

As for the bike. There was no real damage to it other than one of the clip ons being rotated. The locking pin came right out and handlebars straighten up as soon as I got the trailer to it on the track ( go figure ). So I just had to realign the clip ons and tighten up a couple things and it was back in flawless shape again. So no harm, no foul.

Heres the link to Mid Ohios program:

Im probably going to try and get in as many track days as I can come spring ( budget permitting ) to try to get more of a hand on the lines, riding position, and entry speed.

BTW- Pics are now up from saturday at http://www.photoreflect.com/store/store.aspx?p=236819
