Black monster, leather jacket, and full face helmet... I could see how it would be mistakable. Now if I was mistaken for him walking down the road then there would be fighting words! haha

Hey, does anyone have a plan for the Mid Ohio races Aug. 3-5? Who's going, how can we meet up?

Any tips/tricks for a Newb as far as going on a bike and camping? I have driven there before for the day, but never riden and never camped there. Need any advice you guys can give me as far as riding/camping (or staying in a hotel) there goes.

 Thanks guys, Rob

Advice?

1. Don't get directions from BS... Ask Mother Mario why.
2. Bring rain gear... Ask Mother Mario why.
3. Learn to speak Italian while in the pits... Ask Mother Mario why.
4. Camp where there is shade in the afternoon/evening.
5. Bring supplies to take a ho bath
6. Bring comfortable shoes
7. Bring comfortable chair
8. Bring umbrella

I'll think of more.

Several of us are planning on camping, so when it gets nearer we'll make plans in this forum.  The vintage days are the weekend before, and some of us will be there for that also.

Hey there guys,

We have been attending the races as a club for 4 years and we camp every year.  Look for the DOC flag flying in the campground.

Hopefully we can meet you guys!

I live on the northwest side of Columbus in Dublin, about an hour ride from Mid Ohio.

I will most likely be coming up on Saturday.

I am not sure if I will be riding or not, might have to haul up camping supplies, food, beer, etc.

If anyone needs a place to crash, I have plenty of floor room and a deck out back for Carlos.

Yep, I'll be sleeping with the coyotes. I'll be trailering the bike up, so I'm hoping we get to ride there. As the dates gets closer we can work out the details.

Read the strory, WOW you were lucky Mario, Ringraziare il dio.

Man, I am paranoid on the side of the highway... always move as far off road as possible. I know what idiots are out there driving.

Let's all stay safe this year, Rob

what kind of bags do you have.  Bring rain gear, sleeping bag.  Several shirts rolled up to save space.  If you don't have water proof bags and even then I still do buy big glad bags and put cloths in plastic bags, makes them water proof.  At least one extra pair jeans and appropriate socks etc.  I'm going and possibly taking my Road King.  I can strap and extra tent to my luggage rack.  I suggest pairing up with some one so not as many tents are needed.  A collapsible cooler is great.  Most camp grounds have showers so that shouldn't be an issue.  Some one probally has an idea where we are staying.  Definately a tool kit and does anyone have a tubless repair kit.

I'm heading up, but a few fellow Kentuckians are talking about just coming up in a camper.  I might ride though and just stay in a hotel.  About how far away from the track will I have to venture to find rooms available?
Are any of you guys into LeMans racing.  The ALMS races will be there in two weeks and my son wrenches for Dyson Racing, so I might ride up for that too.  I wish I had about 3 weeks of vacation time saved up where I could go up for the LeMans stuff the first weekend, the Vintage Days the next weekend, the AMA races the next and then shoot up to Saratoga, New York  the last weekend (my family has a horse running in the Whitney Stakes).
Anyway, if anyone is riding up from the south and needs a wingman, get in touch.  Or if anyone can suggest a good route to save me from having to go up slab 71 from Louisville.  No matter how I get there or where I stay, I'll make it a point to run into y'all and say hello.

There are several hotels in the area, but most of them are north of the track ~30 min or so.
