Well it was justified. It was the last AMA race for the Ducati Factory team in 2006, and the Suzuki team wanted to boycot the race. I was hanging out in the pits with the team and Bryan. So Beth and I wanted to start some shit with the Suzuki riders . Better judgement prevaled and we had a race!

I would throw down with a Boz Bros. at my back..  I mean if it was justified!

Did I ever tell you guys when Ben Bostrom and I almost started a fist fight with the Suzuki riders @ MidOhio..

Was thinking the same thing on both counts, Scout. I am a VR fanboy to the core but one race don't mean the boss is back. And Dovi and Cal brawling would be AWESOME!

I bet sometime this year Dovi and Crutchlow get into a fight!  I love watching those two race.

i guess we will have to start wishing for rain on race days. She sure looks good in the rain ( Rossi did too ). Hopefully this is beginning of a good relationship.

This is an event that Ducati has organized for the Desmo Owners Clubs.  It's taking place at the DOC Central II hotel, Country Inn and Suites, on Friday before the race, at 6pm.

THE MENU - (once again catered by Maggiano's)
Salad
Corn
Garlic Bread
Italian Bread
Fettuccine Alfredo, Broccoli
Rigatoni "D"®, Chicken, Mushrooms Marsala Sauce Pasta - Spaghetti w/Meat Baked Ziti w/Sausage Whole Roast Chicken, Rosemary, Garlic Dessert - Lemon cookies Dessert - Chocolate Chip
Please note that there will be more vegan pasta and also a non-pasta (roasted rosemary and garlic chicken) entrée for those who are gluten intolerant.

BEER and WINE:

There will be a beer and wine serving permit for the entire weekend. It will now be legal for us to empty the kegs and maybe even tap a few more on Saturday and Sunday night. Saturday night will have to be after the Indy Mile though.
3. Chianti and planty of it!
4. Beer and even more if that! (We will never run out of beer.)

COST IS $35 payable in advance.  We should be OK but if there is a big drop between who previously said they were coming and who actually now pays George in advance the event will not be financially viable and could be at that point cancelled. (all money would be returned of course)

Forward payment asap to George via PayPal (preferred)
send to - george@scottishwoods.com

I found out that there is also a raffle at this event with all sorts of things such as carbon fiber from Shift-Tech, bottles of wine, and other goodies being awarded.... your dinner ticket includes the raffle ticket so no need to hand over more dough to get in on the raffle

Bryan Vicki needs some swag for the raffle. Sounds like you'll be the only one attending from the hooligans. Can you take care of that?

How can I be the ONLY one going???  I emailed her and cc'd you about bringing some t-shirts for the raffle.... I'll be sure to do so, but I'd love to see some other members as well.....

Come on guys, don't make me the ONLY Hooligan in the room.... let's get some presence at this local DOC event.  There will be other clubs from all over attending

I have to work until 730 on this night.  I can meet up w/ anyone who wants to go on a shorty ride that evening.  There are some pretty fun twisies within 15 minutes of MI road.

However, I won't lead it if anyone has been drinking b/c the roads are narrow and there is very little shoulder, if any.  Just my mini-disclaimer  Wink

To sweeten the deal, I can hostess a euchre party at my "mini-villa" (read, small apartment).

So, if you're game for a shorty ride taking off from Michigan Ave near I-465 and then a friendly game of cards, reply to this AND pm me.  I might forget to check.  Thanks!  Friday night.

BS, what other clubs do/don't do, has no relevance on my decision not to attend.  Sure, I'd love to 'represent' and mingle, but $35 (well, $70 including the missus) for some self-serve chicken on a plastic plate is a bit ridiculous on my budget, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.  There are dozens of fantastic restaurants in Indy to choose from, for far less money... Buca di Beppo's readily comes to mind.

I know... I'm cheap... I wrote the book Grin

Considering that I JUST today signed up for DOC (after being a Duc owner for more than 5 years now lol), think they would still let me in?

I'm not sure that the party is actually limited to Duc owners.  It's only been announced afaik to Desmo Owners Clubs, but you don't have to be a Duc owner to be a member and nobody asked me if I owned a Duc when I signed up for the dinner.

I don't believe that it's too late to sign up - you can email George, mentioned in the original post, if you want to double check

That is what happens when your forebears are from a country famous for food.

Being Irish I don't have that problem...
