 [thumbsup]Ohio Ducati Alert

The Ducati Freestyle Factory Stunt team will perform three shows during Destination CycleSafe, Sunday May 23rd at the Clermont County, OH Fairgrounds.  (1000 Locust St, Owensville, OH  45160).  The event goes from 12-4pm.

This FREE event is aimed toward providing safe riding information to riders, and promoting awareness of motorcycles to the non-riding public.  Hosted by ABATE of Ohio, Inc Region 5 in cooperation with other motorcycle groups, bike dealers (including the local Ducati dealer), fire and law enforcement, Clermont and Brown County Safe Communities, insurance groups and more.

Safety Stuff:  riding demonstrations by State Patrol, tire pressure check, No-zone truck, safety apparel fashion show, impaired riding simulator and more.

Just for Fun:  FREE bike/car show, vendors, live band, food, raffles, clown and magic act for the kids, and more.  And of course - the stunt team show.  Proceeds from food and raffle benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities.  More information is available from Beth Richmond at 513 460-4661.

I hope some of you "Hooligans" can make the trip for this event.  This is a rate opportunity to see the stunt team free of charge.  I heard reports of their show at the Cleveland Motorcycle Show in January, sounds like they are awesome.

No Zone Truck

Didn't want to put too much in prior post - but for those unfamiliar with a no-zone truck:

A semi truck with trailer is parked, and motorcycles are staged all around the vehicle - front, rear and sides.  You are invited to climb into the cab and get a first hand experience of the driver's view from up there.  While you KNOW they have big blind spots, this makes for a very impressive visual.  If you have any teen drivers (or soon to be drivers) I highly reccomend you bring them along to check this out.  Hopefully it's a reminder for everyone on the road to give the big rigs plenty of space.

Some unfortunate news to report.  The Ducati Stunt Team will not be appearing at Destination CycleSafe this weekend.  The way I understand it, team member Nick arrived back in town last weekend to find that his office support staff had been "let go" and had no idea where his bikes or equipment are located.  It seems that Ducati simply pulled their support.  A CycleSafe staff member sent an email to Ducati about future team appearances, and received a response that there are no scheduled appearances.  I feel bad for Nick & Ernie - their status is in serious limbo.  However, they were kind enough to reccommend a replacement stunt rider Brian Bubash out of Philly as a last minute replacement.  I've checked out his videos, and it looks like he puts on a great show.

The rest of the CycleSafe attractions are on, and weather predictions are sunny and warm, so I hope you'll still find your way to Ohio this weekend.
