If you take a look at www.kayak.com or www.hotwire.com you can get hotels for about $40 to $50 in Indy NW!! 3.5 stars for $70 for those needing upscale accommodations.   I always use hotwire for hotels - excellent deals, I can certainly recommend it.

The route plan is to head southwest of Indy on 70, the turn south on 39. 

From there, we'll backroad it to 43 around Bloomington, which looks quite tastee.

After that, I'll just kind of make it up as we go along in/around the Hoosier National Forest.  Lots of twisty highways and knarly backroads to explore.  this is, after all, an adventure!
