I'm finding that my thoughts on bikes is changing.  I had a 700 Interceptor back in the late 80s.  Then a Triumph Sprint ST that was 955cc.  Then a ZX-11.  Then a 900SS.  Then a 900cc Gran Canyon.  Then a 1000S DS Multi.  I've always hovered in that 1000cc zone.  I figured that anything smaller wouldn't push my 228 pound self around well enough.  I'm finding that belief is total BS.

On Demo Day I rode two bikes.  The baby Monster, which I didn't really fall in love with (I do like the 1100 version) and the baby Hyper.  I have ridden the big Hyper and I dug it but it's been a while and I can't honestly remember enough about it to compare it to the smaller version right now.

Here are my thoughts on the baby:

The baby Hyper didn't seem small.  I expected it to but it seemed just as big as the full size version when on it.

The riding position was very comfortable.  I'm 5 foot 9 and I fit it well.  Seat height was fine, feet hit the ground.  I didn't have to stretch to reach the bars.  I didn't feel pressure or pain on wrists or shoulders.

The seat fit my big ass plenty well.  It doesn't shove your forward like the Multistrada seat does.

The clutch pull was so light and easy.  My Multi has an aftermarket STM slave and it's way more stiff to pull than the stock baby Hyper.  I'd love to have a clutch pull that easy.

It seemed plenty peppy.  Jumped right up to 80.  I don't know about top speed but for around town it's fine.

It gives you a commanding view of the road.  When riding it literally seems like nothing is in front of you, just open road.  The Multi has all kins of things in front of you, dash and screen.  The hyper is like riding a unicycle, you just see road.  It's cool.

I actually liked the black and white color scheme.  Didn't think I would because Hypers look so good in red.

All in all, I'm a Hyper fan, of both of them.  I'd buy one in a second if I had the money.  I don't know if I'd get the baby or the baby daddy, would have to ride both on the same day, but I liked it.  I hate to say it, because I love this bike, but I like the Hyper better than the Monster.  It fits me better.  Visually, to me, for some reason, the Hyper really does it for me.  Sure I'd have to frakle it, that's just me.  I'd like that opportunity.
