2nd Annual Great Lakes Ducati Rally and Trackfest

Fellow Ducatisti,

I just wanted to update everyone on this regional Ducati rally, things are coming together nicely and we are expecting a great turnout.  Hopefully the weather holds so that everyone can maximize their experience. 

What:  2nd Annual Great Lakes Ducati Rally and Trackfest
Where:  Gingerman Raceway Park and surrounding area
When:  August 16th and 17th
Why:  So Ducatisti from our region can get together and revel in all things Ducati 



This event is gaining momentum and we have a great list of vendors and dealers returning this year as well as some new participants for 2008. 

Several D.O.C. clubs Desmohio (Ohio), DRILL (Illinois), Ducati-ROC (Cleveland), Ducs Unlimited (Michigan) and Hoosier Hooligans (Indiana) are each co-sponsoring a portion of the event this year and are behind the event 100%. 

Red Bull and Ducati will be involved in the weekend.  Red Bull will be sponsoring a big screen movie viewing outdoors on a 30’ screen and Ducati will be present with the Duc Truck including demo rides and hospitality tent for all weekend participants.

Planned events will include but won't be limited to the following:

-2 full track days including Novice, Intermediate and Advanced levels of riding.  This will again be managed by our friends at Sportbike Tracktime.

- Ducati Demo Rides

- Off track group rides in the South Haven, Saugatuck region. 

- Saturday night BBQ dinner

- Live performance by the Orbitsuns Saturday night

- Special TBA movie event by Red Bull Saturday night

- Family Fun area

- Umbrella Girl Experience (pics with your favorite umbrella girl)

- Huge raffle on Saturday night.

- Vendor area with several vendors showing their wares

- Ducati Concourse of Excellence bike display and competition

- Exhaust sound off competition

- Dynojet Dyno runs

Don't forget this isn't your normal track weekend; it's a festival of Ducati!!!

If anyone is able to volunteer to help with setup, has ideas about things we could do to add to the weekend, or wants to get involved post up. This is going to be a really great event and it will be a ton of fun!  I'd like to see our club help support the event

I offered my help for the all weekend.  I also would like to ask Al if he could build a wood ramp and platform. If we can get at least 5 guys involved we will get credit and recognition as a sponsor club like Drill.

I'll be there representin' as I have in the past.
A great deal of volunteer time is needed for set up before the event, and tear down afterwards including setting up canopies, roping areas off for different activities, hanging banners, etc.
Of course manning the table(s) during the event is also very helpful. Any and all help is appreciated. except for Mario, he is banned from emceeing the event as he has a tendency to run off with the microphone.  J/k bro, you did an excellent job last year!

Just wanted to bump this up to the top, and for the membership to keep in mind this event is comming up. Keep your calenders open for this weekend, as this will be another great time to spend with fellow Ducatisti.
 Also,  I'd like to start a headcount list for any and all volunteers from our club, to help setup on Fri. Aug. 15 and or teardown Mon (late afternoon) Aug 18
 I would also like to note that if anyone is wanting to ride in the any of the track day events that they should get signed up ASAP as the trackday slots are filling up quickly.

Fellow Ducatisti,

It is with great pride and pleasure that I announce that Ducati will be having the Duc Truck and hospitality tent at our event this year.

So if you aren't riding on the track don't let that stop you from coming out to enjoy all the other festivities that are going on during the weekend.  Other attractions will include group rides, Concourse of Excellence, Exhaust Sound Off competition, live performance by the Orbitsuns, TBD events hosted by Red Bull, demo rides, vendors, family fun area, shopping and recreational activities in the South Haven area and much more.

We need your support to help make this event a regular and national level happening.

We hope to see you at Gingerman in August.
