Black monster, leather jacket, and full face helmet... I could see how it would be mistakable. Now if I was mistaken for him walking down the road then there would be fighting words! haha

Clutch pack needed

The bike needs a new (dry) clutch pack. I am in northern IN and am wondering where the best place to pick it up might be. Thoughts?

There's a lot of
s in Indy this weekend for some race event of some sort, might want to ask one of them to bring back a clutch pack from Indy Ducati

I wish I was one of them. Bad timing I guess. I wish I would have thought to ask someone last week. Then I could have gave them the cash and had them grab the clutch for me.

Eh, no biggie, could have one of the guys take it up to you. I'll cover you or you could call and give Indy Duc your CC#. Headed there now, let me know.

I've never seen one but I think Barnett makes one. Myself on something like that I would only trust factory parts. It might be a cost effective alternative though.

I'm also in the market for new clutch plates. Do you not feel or have you heard that Barnetts packs are less then the OEM?

Consult STD on this issue, he steered me away from Barnett and Matt hooked me up on a new OEM pack-back to a nice smooth clutchiness now
, be sure to check the specs on ALL the components (bearing, hub, cover, springs, seals and gaskets, etc.) as I had a bearing failure that lead to a slave cylinder being cooked (heat transferred through the rod)

I can't really say which one is better really, I just don't have experience with Barnett clutches. I've used OEM before and was happy with it is what I meant to say.

I've got a barnette in the SS. I maybe got 6K miles out of it and the first 3 inner frictions are toast already. Thing is, I only have experience with the aluminum friction plates, as I have a pro-cutting aluminum basket. (most likely the same material on the steelys, but Im not sure).

So I went with the DP clutch pack. The guys at Indy Ducati where very helpful and even had the plates in stock. Install will happen this coming week and the old monster will be tip top once again.

Would it seem odd that on my wet clutch the fiber plates are aluminum ?
